My Norton, My Way :
With the current product line, Norton customers insisted on making sure they take advantage of all their Norton benefits. To that end, the My Norton app became the overall face of the suite. It has admirable nature scenes on the left, reminiscent of some nature backgrounds in panda protection apps. At the bottom right it lists six important security elements: Device Security, Dark Web Monitoring, Secured VPN, Cloud Backup, Password Manager, and Parental Controls.
Clicking to open Device Protection brings up a window that longtime Norton users will find very familiar. A large panel with statistics like the latest updates and the most recent scans reflects your security status. Five big button panels linked to Security, Online Security, Backup, Performance and My Norton. The last click takes you back to the My Norton app. Clicking on one of the other four slides puts the whole row of panels at the bottom, revealing more buttons related to what you clicked. For example, clicking Backup shows icons for run backups, file recovery, and backup sets.
After installation, be sure to run a live update. Although the status panel indicates that my security updates were current, I found more to install the live update. Each of the browsers you use must be turned on and at least the Norton toolbar must be installed. You can also add other extensions: Norton SafeSearch, which identifies dangerous search results; Norton Home Page, a collection of quick searches and quick links to your home page; And Norton Password Manager.
